India vs. Pakistan: The Rivalry's Latest Chapter
The men’s final victory over their Rival Pakistan marked an extension to their dominant run over their rivals in the limited-overs category. Having recently beaten Pakistan by 19 runs in the 2025 Asia cup final in Dubai, the women’s team had also won over the Pakistan team by 19 runs in a separate tournament. At the previous 2023 Asian Games at Hangzhou, Pakistan had failed to reach the men’s final after being defeated by Afghanistan in the semi final, despite having clinched the gold medal in men’s cricket category in the previous 2010 and 2014 editions, long before India’s 2023 and 2026 record victories.
